Rooted and Reaching
From Peaks to Petals is the journey of tending a garden that began as a single seed of an idea. By 2023, the groundwork from earlier years had settled firmly into place. This chapter tells of walking a stone path, setting a small boat into open water, and sitting under a garden pergola while the work found its way into new hands and hearts.
These three images became more than symbols. They mirrored how my steps in business and life felt during this time — steady, intentional, and quietly expanding.
Foundations & Flourish (2023 – 2025)
🪨 2023 – Stone Path
In 2023, Soaperoni took its official step into the world with registration complete. The act felt like laying one flat stone after another, each choice creating a path I could follow with care. This was not a leap but a grounding.
I celebrated by sharing soaps as gifts — small tokens carrying the essence of the sanctuary I wanted my brand to be. They went to friends, family, and a few kindred spirits who had walked parts of this journey with me. The giving was as important as the making. Each bar carried a story, a palette of colours, and a sense of connection.
Walking this stone path also meant making decisions about how I wanted my brand to feel from the inside out. Every practical step — refining recipes, sourcing ingredients, testing packaging — felt like placing another stone in the right direction.
⛵ 2024 – Small Boat
In 2024, the Soaperoni website set sail. Launching it felt like guiding a small boat away from the shore, the gentle current of private sales carrying it forward. The boat was modest in size, built with care, carrying only what it needed — thoughtful images, truthful copy, and the products that had been refined over years of making.
Those first orders were not just transactions. They were an extension of the conversations I had begun in gifting. Each package sent out was like a message in a bottle, reaching someone who valued the thought and care within it.
The “small boat” image stayed with me all year. It reminded me that slow navigation allows you to notice the view, adjust your course when needed, and feel the water beneath you. I learned that the size of the vessel matters less than the heart of the journey it carries.
🍅 2025 – Tomato Pergola
By 2025, Soaperoni had grown into a shared space where others could gather, much like my own tomato pergola at home. The frame was built to support and protect, allowing vines to climb and fruit to ripen, and it became a daily reminder of what steady care can do.
Corporate and community soap projects brought fresh energy, while a sponsorship in the proptech space opened an unexpected bridge between industries. Each collaboration felt like a new vine winding into place, adding shade, colour, and life to the structure I had been building for years.
This was also the year of creative buddy chats, those light‑filled conversations that sparked new ideas and made the work feel less solitary. Under the shelter of the tomato vines, there was room for both stillness and lively exchange.
The tomato pergola taught me that growth is not just vertical. It spreads outward, creating places where people can pause, connect, and see the beauty from a different angle.
Reflections on Foundations & Flourish
These three years taught me that foundations are not static. Once they are laid, they can invite movement, connection, and new directions. The stone path gave me footing. The small boat taught me to steer gently. The pergola reminded me that growth is richer when shared.
From Peaks to Petals has been about climbing, crossing, planting, and now tending. The garden is flourishing, and there is still room to grow. I carry forward the sense that each step, launch, and shelter built is part of an ongoing story — one that blends making with meaning, and business with beauty.
